Here is a story I posted on the blog all the way back in 2014. It is about a teen girl who loves reading, who is called to go on an adventure of her own. You can read YA Book Lover here.

For MerMay 2025 I posted a mermaid flash fiction story on my blog. A mermaid princess defies the law to rescue someone she shouldn’t. You can read The Rescue here.

Ethel Grieves and the Invisibility curse graphic on blue background from Havok publishing

First lines: Ethel Grieves did not do dresses, yet here she was, in a dress. A ballgown, no less.

About: Ethel Grieves, daughter of a crime boss, is forced to go to a ball where she meets an unexpected guest.

Ethel Grieves and the Invisibility Curse is available to Havok members only, sorry. If you are a member, you can read it here.

Five minutes to save the world graphic from Havok Publishing.

First Lines: Therrus picked flowers with Harmony Star in a field near their cottages.

“Luke! Come look at this!” Harmony called.

His heart panged every time she used his alias, but she couldn’t know his real identity. His true reptilian humanoid form would scare her, no matter how much she loved animals.

About: Alien Therrus has only five minutes to save the world he has come to love before another alien race destroys it.

Five Minutes to Save the World is available to Havok members only, sorry. Havok members can read it here.

First lines: Belle’s steps slowed as she neared the grand house. Had her heart not already been racing from hurrying to make it in time, it surely would be now.

About: A retelling of A Christmas Carol, with Ebenezer like you’ve never seen him before!

The Old Dragon is available to Havok members only, sorry. If you are a member you can read it here.

Cry of the beast, black and white background, with a girl standing in a beasts mouth from Havok Publishing

First Lines: The cry sends a chill through me, as it does every time I hear it. It always arrives at the height of summer, yet I pray this is the cycle it will not come.

But it does. It always does.

About: A mother will do whatever it takes to save her daughter from being devoured by a beast.

Cry of the Beast is available to Havok members only, sorry. Havok members can read it here.

Havok is the home of some fantastic flash faction in the mystery, sci-fi, humorous, thriller and fantasy genres. You can read the free daily story or become a member for only $4.99 US per year. I am in no way sponsored by Havok, I just think they publish good flash fiction.

#Be sure to stay tuned. I’ll add more links to the page as they become available.
