March/April Update 2025

I had a busy March and April writing wise and have some exciting news to share. We’ll get to that shortly.

Because I was busy writing I didn’t have as much time to blog as I wanted. (I have so many reviews I need to post!)

Some highlights from March include an interview with historical romance author Dienece Darling. You can read the interview here.

I reviewed the wonderful MG book From Wonderland, With Love. Alice in Wonderland with spies, anyone?

Unfortunately, I was too busy to do an author interview in April.

I did review a college set, contemporary Christian romance by Kristina Welch. Anything. It was a 4.5 star read, and I really enjoyed listening to this on audio.

I also did a cover reveal for a book I am very excited about by one of my favourite authors. The Heart of the King by J.J Fischer.

On the reading front…

I read 7 books during March – all of which I am yet to review. This included Lumen and Memoria by J.J Fischer. Both were amazing. I will not only do a review for these, but on Instagram I will also be posting my spoiler reactions in the coming week.

I read 4 books during April – reviews to come. My favourite was ‘A Lady’s Guide to Marvels and Misadventure’ by Angela Bell. It was one of those books where 5 stars just isn’t enough.

And now onto my writing news:

MARCH:

I decided I would enter Harlequin’s ‘The Great Love Inspired Author Search’. I prepped a first chapter, query and synopsis and sent it off a few days before entries closed on March 17.

I edited and submitted a short story.

I wrote and edited a flash fiction piece (1,000 words) and submitted it.

I did another edit of my YA Christian fantasy I will be querying soon. All the big edits are done; I was just tightening up sentences. I finished this edit on April 8th.

APRIL:

I continued writing the first draft of my Love Inspired novel. I wanted a first draft whether I made it to round two or not…

I am excited to say I DID make it through to round two, which means they want to read my FULL MANUSCRIPT!

Although I very much love writing fantasy, I also want to write contemporary stories as well. There are so many great Love Inspired authors out there, so it would be amazing to be published alongside them.

I also received news that the flash fiction piece I submitted was accepted. You will be able to read my story online in June. I will provide the link when I know what day it publishes.

So, it was a very exciting April. All praise be to God!

That’s it for now. How was your reading or writing during March and April? I’d love to hear from you.
