The end of 2024 went by so fast and I can hardly believe we are 15 days into 2025 already!
2024 was a tough year. It was a year of change and rebuilding. It was also an emotionally and mentally challenging year. There were some failures, but also some wins.
Blogging:
I wanted to get back into blogging and do it more consistently, which I feel like I did.
Reading:

I set myself two reading challenges in 2024 and failed both of them.
I was a little optimistic in my Goodreads reading challenge. I decided I wanted to try and read 100 books (something I haven’t done in years). I only read 53 books – well short of my goal.
I also wanted to read 12 books for the #AussieYAChallenge and only read 6.
Though I didn’t get to read as many books as I would like, I did read some that became my favourites, including those pictured above.
Writing:
During 2024, I started to send out short stories. I had taken a break from sending out short stories in the past few years. I struggle with short stories, as I always end up wanting to turn them into novels!
I had a few rejected, but I also had two accepted into anthologies:
Talking Trees and other stories of life is out now. It is an anthology of non-fiction faith stories.
Seasons of Romantasy: Winter will be out in November 2025. This is an anthology of clean romantasy stories.
I am still waiting to hear back about two fiction short stories I submitted. Hopefully I’ll have good news to share about those soon.
I also decided that my YA dragon fantasy is finally ready to be queried. At the end of December I sent my first proposal to an agent (They wanted a full proposal instead of just a query letter)! This was exciting and nerve wracking all at once. I love this story so much and can’t wait to share it with the world.
I have lots of plans for 2025. I will do a separate post about that, so be sure to check back in.
How was 2024 for you? Did you reach your reading goals? What about writing goals or accomplishments?
Let me know, I’d love to hear from you.
Hi My Lovely, I enjoy your blogs, and your stories, God Bless xo PS you know how my year went lol
