My Thoughts:

4 stars.

Nolan is intelligent, and gets bored easily, leading to him getting into a lot of trouble.
After thwarting a robbery at his school, he is invited to the world’s most dangerous school to learn to be a spy – if he can survive. Nothing is easy at the Peak – they are looking for the best. It is an elite spy school in a secret location, protecting the world without the world knowing it. The enemy, known as Swarm, are trying to take down the Peak from the inside. Nolan has to figure out who it is, before its too late for him and the Peak.

Nolan is young, and far for perfect. He is smart, and has a lot to learn. I found him easily likeable and I think teens will find him relatable. He becomes friends with an eclectic group of teens which adds some humor into the mix.

The Peak was an exciting read, and a short one, which makes it perfect for reluctant readers. For readers adverse to romance, there is none. This was clean with no unsuitable content for younger teen readers. This is one I would recommend to my own teens. If you enjoy spy stories this is one not to be missed. And if you haven’t really read spy stories before, you may find yourself enjoying them after trying this.
